Before departure, our experienced team conducts a comprehensive boat and crew briefing at the dock. They go over the day’s schedule, safety procedures, and answer any questions you might have. This ensures everyone is prepared and knows what to expect during their Maui scuba diving adventure.
Next, we embark on a comfortable boat ride to our first dive site. The journey usually takes 30 minutes or less if along Maui’s coast, or about an hour if off of Lana’i, offering a chance to enjoy the stunning coastal views along the way. The crew shares stories about the scenic surroundings as you enjoy the sea breeze. We keep a keen eye out for wildlife along the way. During humpback whale season (December-March), this part of the trip doubles as a whale watch! We also see various sea birds, flying fish, and on most trips to Lana’i we see dolphins!

· The Cathedrals of Lana’i: Known for its dramatic underwater rock formations and vibrant marine life, this site offers a truly unique diving experience.
· Olowalu: Recognized for having the oldest and most diverse coral reefs in Maui County, this stunning reef is perfect for beginners to explore.
· The Carthaginian Wreck: This replica whaling ship used to be a part of Lahaina’s harborscape. Now, it’s an artificial reef that has become a haven for marine life, offering divers the chance to explore a fascinating underwater environment.
· Mala Garden: If some snorkel boats go to places they call Turtle Town, this has got to be Turtle City! Famed for its sea turtle cleaning station and reef sharks, this underwater garden is absolutely teeming with marine life. Keep an eye out for the elusive frog fish!
· Kaumalapau (Barge Harbor): On the western coast of Lana’i, along some of the highest sea cliffs in Hawaii, is this epic and rarely visited drift dive outside the sleepy Kaumalapau harbor.

The second dive typically takes place at a site that contrasts with the first, offering new challenges and sights. Whether you’re exploring lava tubes, swim-throughs, or coral gardens, each dive promises a unique Maui scuba diving adventure. Visibility in Maui and Lana’i’s waters are typically excellent, often ranging from 50 to 100 feet, allowing you to fully appreciate the underwater scenery.
After the second dive, we head back to the dock. The boat ride back is a perfect time to relax and enjoy the beautiful Maui coastline. If the wind comes up in the afternoon, we offer everyone spray jackets for their comfort. Upon returning, you have the opportunity to log your dives and discuss the day’s highlights with our crew.
