We had an absolutely exceptional experience diving with Maui Pacific Divers — two days of private dives out at Lanai. From start to finish, the trip was run with real professionalism, and our dive guides were fantastic. They adjusted our schedule around the weather to make sure we got the best possible conditions, and they went out of their way to tailor each dive to what we'd asked for. Diving the Cathedral was a bucket-list experience we won't forget. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for a top-notch dive operation in Maui! 🤿🐠
What a great day! We did a full day, 3-tank dive at Lana'i with Dana, Tiffany and Cap'n Mikael. While the trip was not inexpensive, the memories are priceless. It was a bucketlist trip for my son as a gift for his senior year. We went a day earlier than booked when Maggie called and said a tropical storm was building and swell was growing. What a perfect decision that became as tides ripped the next day. Dana and Tiffany traded divemaster duties for each of the dives and Dana manned the camera when she wasn't leading. We felt safe, and completely comfortable at all times in the water. We brought our own gear and the boat supplied the nitrox. My son is a new diver, but not a beginner and I have logged a little more than 100 dives. Each of us felt at ease with the pace of the dive and with the experiences in the water. The locations were amazing. As with many places, there is quite a bit of bleaching, but the biodiversity during our dives were spectacular. The cathedrals were the first two dives and I cannot imagine going with a group more than our two divers and two divemasters. The stirred up sediment would have ruined the dives. The boat is as the company explains. For the two of us, there was plenty of room. It might be cramped for very large groups, but that is why we didn't want a boat with 20 people on it. Ha! The ride was quite smooth for a smaller boat. Mikael designed it himself and is a renaissance man and shared many interesting stories on our hour ride over to Lana'i. The crew supplied plenty of eats which we were happy to enjoy during surface intervals and Maggie in the office was super to work with when arranging our day. I would enthusiastically recommend MPD to any folks looking to get away from the cattle boats. As a great benefit, their boat is one of the first on the docks with parking away from the cattle-call loading zones and packed parking.
We had an incredible experience yesterday on our whale watching tour. We did a private charter for 5 of us and very happy about that choice. Would do it again if we had time - highly recommend!
The crew were all pretty cool, and though the weather was a bit foreboding the skipper got us to an area that was somewhat shelded and found us a great pod of whales, momma and calf included! THen took us to a nearby spot with beautiful landscape scenery for a few photos (from the boat) before heading back. The boat is a wide open dive boat so no cushy seats whereon I could sit my bony butt down to rest on the ride out and back, but that's a small price for the total experience :-) And the total price $$ was a bit steep compared to others I've been on, but the limited amount of passengers kinda make that expected (only 5 pssngrs + 3 crew).
We had such a wonderful day with Maui Pacific divers. Logan and Brandon were an exceptional crew who made sure we were all safe and had great dives! Mike our captain was such a lovely man who is an expert captain with a wealth of knowledge!!! And Maggie made the booking process so easy and seamless! We will definitely use them again!!! Maui Pacific Divers provided us with an outstanding whale watch/photography session. Anywhere we wanted to go on the water they ‘made it happen’. If you get the chance to go out with them I highly recommend you go.
